The actress, who plays the role of Bethany Platt on the ITV soap, faced criticism after showcasing her new look in a video. The 28 year old actress took to Instagram on Sunday, 7 July to share her makeup routine, which led to some unsolicited advice from followers.
One comment read: "That's a lot of make up, your naturally attractive anyway, don't need it!" A second said: "Wow that’s a lot of makeup" and a third added: "Honestly you look perfect without." While people complimented the star , followers couldn't help but voice their opinion as another penned: "You don’t need all that! You are naturally gorgeous." "Totally gorgeous without any of it", one commented.
"To much make up your beautiful without it", another said. "Lucy, you really don't need all that makeup you are totally gorgeous without it", someone else mentioned. Unfazed by the remarks, Lucy took to her Instagram stories to repost the video with a caption defending herself.
She wrote: "Ppl (women lol) are SO triggered at me wearing makeup. Maybe I LIKE making an effort when I get the opportunity to. Sorry if you don't xx.
" Others made sure to support the Corrie actress and told her not.
