Coronation Street legends Toyah Battersby and Sarah Platt ( Georgia Taylor and Tina O’Brien) fought back tears in recent scenes as they discussed the tragic loss of their babies. Last week, Toyah was arrested for murder after the body of her baby was found, and news of her arrest soon hit the cobbles. Toyah gave birth to her stillborn daughter Rose two months early , after a harrowing rape ordeal in 2001, which she explained to police during her interrogation.
Several weeks ago, internet sleuths began digging up the park where Rose was buried , in the hopes of finding evidence of Lauren Bolton ’s ( Cait Fitton ) murder. Having been released pending further enquiries, Toyah was shocked to receive a visit from Sarah, who soon revealed that Nick Tilsley ( Ben Price ) had told her what had happened.
Though Toyah expected judgement, Sarah was incredibly understanding, pointing out that she knew what it was like to lose a baby. Sarah had a baby with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in 2004, who she named Billy . However, having been born prematurely, Billy sadly only lived for three days.
