Coronation Street fans are adamant a romance will happen between Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain despite both actresses denying it's on the cards. The pair have been featured in more scenes together of late after Vicky Myers was made a regular cast member, three years after her first appearance in Weatherfield. It was back in May that viewers of the ITV soap went wild over scenes between Swain and Carla, played by Alison King, after the former discovered Carla covered for her nephew Bobby Crawford over his lie in his police statement over what he saw when Lauren Bolton disappeared.
Despite both of them misleading the case, Swain appeared quite forgiving of Carla, particularly when she became someone to vent to as she let the stress of the case and being a single mum bubble over. But every scene they appear in has Corrie viewers wanting more than a friendship for the pair as they call for them to be Weatherfield's latest power couple.
During Wednesday night's (July 17) trip to the cobbles, viewers saw Carla turning to Swain following Betsy's disappearance from the factory. She ended up getting a call from the worried teen, who unbeknownst to her mum, had been driven away.
