CORNING — Corning Union High School held a ceremony for its graduating students on Friday, much to the delight of many. Around 190 students graduated Friday night. Superintendent Jared Caylor announced during the senior awards night that the Class of 2024 received scholarships valued at around $311,650.

“Enjoy all of your accomplishments,” Caylor said. “Celebrate with your family and your loved ones. And then go out into the world and do what you do.



Be bold; do not sit back and wait for things to come to you. Be dedicated to something important in your life. Be willing to say what is important to you, and then be willing to go fight for it when you mess up.

” Senior Class President Marlana Maeder called it crazy that they had made it this far. She talked about the coronavirus pandemic, the help they received at the career center, and the cherished friendships they made along the way. “We can happily say we survived a global pandemic so we could thrive in the cardinal culture we always heard about,” Maeder said.

“We are fortunate enough to have a completely normal senior year and now a graduation.
