Controversial Britain's Got Talent winner Viggo Venn has revealed why he wasn't invited to the show's final on Sunday night. The 2023 champion was branded "the most stupid act we’ve had this year” by judge Simon Cowell . The 35-year-old Norwegian clown waltzed off with the £250,000 prize money and the coveted spot to perform in front of Prince William and Kate at the Royal Albert Hall.
However, his win did not go down well with everybody. Some fans were so annoyed by Viggo's win, complaints were made to Ofcom despite it being a public vote. He later admitted he was "embarrassed" to take the top prize as he reacted to boos being heard as his name was announced - but later declared that his fate was "not his fault".
He was certainly one of the most unique acts to ever appear on the ITV talent show and Viggo won a standing ovation for his first performance which saw him dance along to the Daft Punk hit One More Time as he removed a seemingly never-ending array of hi-vis vests. After Sydnie Christmas took home the prize on Sunday night, the former winner took to social media to congratulate the singer and explained why he wasn't at the show. "Congratulations to the new Britain’s Got Talent @bgt winner @sydniechristmas !" he captioned the video.
"You absolutely smashed it tonight, I wish you a very visible year full of fantastic performances! It has been a wild year for me, tonight I was performing my sold out show in Basingstoke. It has been so much fun touring the UK, mak.
