Article content A small community came together in a big way at the fourth annual Chatty Car and Tractor Show on Saturday. Hundreds of people descended on the grounds of the former Chatsworth arena for a day of fun and festivities. This year’s show attracted about 200 cars and a couple of dozen tractors, while children enjoyed games and barrel train rides around the ball field.

There was an engine blow, where ticket buyers guessed how long it would take the engine of an old junker to blow up, as well as mini bike demonstrations, live music and a beer gardens. Car show organizer Terry Van Rossum said Saturday that they were very happy with the turnout to the event, with the 200 vehicles about the maximum the show can handle due to space. “Next year or the year after we are going to have about four more acres of lovely parkland back there we will be able to park in so as this project goes on it is just going to get better and better and better,” Van Rossum said.



“There will be a walking path with some memorial benches. It will be just beautiful for a car show.” Van Rossum said they have been given the OK to build a pavilion with a small kitchen and some bathrooms at the site, thanks to the support of the Chatsworth Agricultural Society.

“It will be a place where we can hold other events and it will help us with our event as well,” Van Rossum said. “It is all about the community working together.” Saturday’s event was all about supporting the campaign to buil.
