The shocking true crime story of Collin Reeves, the former soldier who murdered his neighbours, is being explored in an episode of Channel 5 ’s A Killer Makes a Call series. Each episode examines a true crime story in which the perpetrator calls the police to confess to a killing. The programme focusing on former Royal Engineer Reeves will air on Tuesday 11 June at 10pm .
What did Collin Reeves do? Thirty-five-year-old Reeves stabbed his neighbours, Stephen and Jennifer Chapple, to death with a ceremonial military dagger at their home in Norton Fitzwarren in Somerset in November 2021, as their two children slept upstairs. The violent attack followed an ongoing argument over parking which had begun six months previously. The court heard that Reeves had jumped over a fence to gain access to the Chapple’s home prior to the attack.
Reeves entered his neighbour’s property, stabbing Jennifer Chapple, a 33-year-old coffee-shop worker, six times in the chest and shoulder, shouting: “Die you f * ****, die”. Stephen Chapple, a 36-year-old teacher, was also stabbed six times and was found by emergency services near his back door. Immediately following the attack, Reeves called 999 and confessed to stabbing the couple.
“I went round with a knife,” he said. “I’ve stabbed both of them.” The Chapple’s two children slept through the attack and were removed by emergency services following Reeves’ 999 call.
When he was booked into custody he gave his military seri.
