Clairo has shared her new single ‘Nomad’. The songwriter’s angelic 2021 album ‘Sling’ was a beautiful experience, and Clairo opened up about its making in a CLASH cover feature . Interviewed by Mercury winner Arlo Parks, the conversation touched on their mutual creative paths.
Clairo’s new album ‘Charm’ is out on July 12th, co-produced by the songwriter herself and Leon Michels (of The Dap-Kings and El Michels Affair ). New single ‘Nomad’ leads the way. The arrangements on ‘Sling’ were often feather-soft, and this builds outwards – it’s hardly maximalist, but there are different colours and tones in here, for sure.
Lyrically, Clairo airs her insecurities, exploring her humanity in the process; “I’m cynical, a mess / I’m touch-starved and shameless...
