Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney has been flooded with messages from fans after sharing a heart-wrenching update on social media, following the tragic loss of her Brookside co-star Dean Sullivan last year. The 53 year old was left shattered by the news of his sudden death last November after a brief illness. The actor, who is best remembered for his role as Jimmy Corkhill in the Merseyside TV soap, passed away at the age of 68 after being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018.

Claire, who portrayed his on-screen daughter Lindsey Corkhill in the former Channel 4 soap, was among those who attended the funeral service in December to bid her final farewell to her dear friend. The ITV actress, known for her role as Cassie Plummer on the Cobbles, took to Instagram on Thursday to post a series of photos. The post contained a mix of poignant memories, featuring the late Paul O'Grady and Claire's ex-partner Alan Miller.
