Christian Eriksen admits he’s unhappy with his bit-part role at Manchester United and will assess his future after Denmark ’s campaign at Euro 2024 . The 32-year-old, who joined United on a free transfer in July 2022, started just 12 Premier League matches this season and has completed just one game for Erik ten Hag’s side since the start of January. Eriksen was also left on the bench for United’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final and the midfielder concedes that being a substitute is ‘never fun’.
‘For me, the season has been a little different to other seasons,’ Eriksen told TV2. ‘It has been a slightly different role. It’s new to me, but it’s also new to the outside world.
It is clear, in relation to how people talk.’ Asked if he finds it easier to sit on the bench towards the end of his career, Eriksen replied: ‘No, it’s the same. ‘I was also a bit lucky that I didn’t sit on the bench so much when I was younger.
But I did it once in a while. It’s never fun. That’s for sure.
‘Personally, you always want to be the one who is chosen first in the team. Sometimes the coach looks the other way. A stunning curler from distance by Christian Eriksen! ð±ð± The @ManUtd man delivers a beautiful goal to put Denmark 2-1 up late on against Sweden ð©ð° pic.
