A 21-year-old predator from Chimanimani has been arrested for molesting his 14-year-old girlfriend on her way home in the bush. It is alleged that on April 23rd, the two met on a footpath as the young girl was coming from Charles Woods Business Centre. The man then proposed for sex in the bush, which the girl denied.
He then allegedly dragged her into the nearby bush and molested her once before walking away. On May 16th, the mother’s girl then returned home from Harare and noticed a limp on her daughter and asked what had happened.
The daughter then narrated how she was raped, leading to the accused person’s arrest . In the court proceedings, the court ruled that the two had a relationship which existed before giving the final verdict.
The young man was convicted for having sexual intercourse with an underage girl and sentenced to 18 months in prison, with 6 months suspended.
