AYO BADA The atmosphere was serene and the people were in unison to unite Methodism in Africa. The setting was the Africa Methodist Council (AMC) Heads of Conference Summit and Africa Methodist Women’s Conference. Tagged ‘A Revitalised Methodist Movement for the Transformation of Africa’s Socio-Political and Economic Landscape’, the summit was hosted by the Methodist Church of Nigeria (MCN) Wesley Chapel, Lekki, Lagos, from Wednesday, May 29 with the arrival of delegates to Monday, June 3 with their departure.

From Nigeria to South Africa to Mozambique to Zimbabwe to Zambia to The Gambia to Kenya to Tanzania to Cote d’Ivoire, Benin Republic, Togo, Sierra Leone to mention but few, the Christian brothers and sisters assembled at the Wesley Chapel, Lekki of the MCN to chart a common goal for Africa Methodism. According to the Prelate of the MCN, His Eminence Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, the AMC is a unifying Wesleyan movement for holistic evangelism for the transformation of Africa and humanity.



“Our goal is that this meeting must promote mutual respect, mutual understanding and collaboration between Ministers and Lay members. “We must all win more souls for Jesus Christ in the continent of Africa. “These are ways that the Methodist communities in Africa can show positive and Christ-like cooperative interaction, if we want God and the world to say, we are dedicated to John 3: 16,” he said.

He urged Christian leaders to reexamine themselves so that they can lead their me.
