Farmington Carolyn L. Johnson, 81, of Farmington, entered eternal rest Wednesday, May 22, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde L.
Johnson. Carolyn leaves behind her three children, Keith Johnson and wife Susan, Kelley Shaw and husband Jim, and Tammy Johnson and fiance Clinton Riggen. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Maxwell Parker and wife Chelsea, Zoe, Nicholas, Alexander, and Luke, and her great-grandchild, Lily.
Carolyn was a graduate of Dunbar High School in 1960. She developed a love for singing and performing at a young age. She often performed in shows and venues, for she had a beautiful voice and loved performing.
From there, she attended airline stewardess school in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a U.
S. Airways flight attendant. Soon after, she was employed at the Pentagon, where she worked as a secretary for the Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara.
After that, she married the love of her life, Clyde, for 53 years. After raising her children, she returned to the workforce at Penn State Fayette Campus as an admissions counselor. She formed countless bonds with students and faculty through her love for her work.
Carolyn’s favorite activity was being with her animals, from raising Lammas to singing her favorite show tunes with her dog, Hannah. Her family would like to share their heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents of Lytle’s Personal Care Home, who helped care for her. The family’.
