As I stepped into the glamorous surrounds of The Leinster Hotel in Dublin, I was greeted by the effervescent beauty guru that is Caroline Hirons. She was wearing her trademark bright colours and her skin was positively glowing. Shaking my hand tightly, we sat down in a quiet corner of the room to catch up.

It’s been a very busy decade for the Liverpudlian. The mum of four and grandmother of two, who now lives in West London with her musician husband Tim, is considered a breath of fresh air in an industry that often favours younger women. She stands out as a leader, one whose opinion carries great weight.



Caroline’s beauty journey started at home. Her mother and grandmother both worked at beauty counters in department stores, with Caroline recalling how she was in awe of their glamour from a young age. She then worked as a brand consultant, before taking up beauty blogging in her spare time back in 2010. What started out as a bit of fun soon grew legs. The views on Caroline’s website and YouTube channel skyrocketed, thanks to her honest product reviews and recommendations.

It’s often said the “Caroline effect” has the power to make or break a product, and she was credited with bringing Clin.
