Actor and model Brooke Shields is well known for her thick, fluffy eyebrows. So much so, that if she started a beauty brand, you’d expect that it might be related to her signature feature. But no, she’s actually launching three haircare products, via her first-ever brand .
“Once you reach this era in your life, you realise that, all of a sudden, your hair and scalp have different needs,” the 59-year-old told me a few months ago while we had juice at Manhattan’s The Well. After taking the topic to her online community, Beginning Is Now, she realised this wasn’t just her issue. “Women were sharing that their hair had become more brittle or was thinning.
After some research, I realised there was this white space for women over 40 when it came to their hair.” From there things took off, and now Shields and the Commence team launch a trio of products: , , and . All are made with a scientifically-backed complex that promotes stronger, thicker hair growth, starting at the scalp.
Inside, there’s alfalfa extract and açai stem cells, fermented together to feed the scalp’s microbiome.
