Thorpe Park: Police searching for three missing children The loved ones of a teenager who has mysteriously disappeared in Tenerife have expressed their deep concern after he told friends over the phone "he didn't know where he was". Jay Slater, from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, journeyed to the Canary Island for a music festival with pal Lucy and another companion. But, worry settled in after the 19-year-old decided to to stay with some people he had met during the holiday following a night out.

Lucy, speaking to Manchester Evening News , described their flat as being "in the middle of nowhere," adding that Jay would "not have realised" the distance from their original accommodation. On the morning of June 17, Jay rang Lucy to inform her that he was attempting to walk back after failing to catch a bus. He mentioned his phone battery was dwindling at one percent, he needed a drink of water and "didn't know where he was".

This location is within the Rural de Teno Park - or the National Park of Teno - a hotspot for hiking enthusiasts. Lucy revealed she is now desperately scouring the island in search of her friend.
