A Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist has tragically died at the age of 32 following a cancer diagnosis. Emma Jones was 23 years old when she shot into the limelight in 2015 after her remarkable rendition of Andrea Bocelli's "Ave Maria" on the popular ITV talent show. It was her incredible vocal talent that caught Judge David Walliams ' attention, who complimented: "You should be confident Emma very few of us could ever sing like that.
" Amanda Holden praised Emma's audition on the show as being "one of the most beautiful auditions that [the judges had seen] all day." Emma headed through to the semi-finals of the competition. Prior to her performance, she shared a heart-wrenching video revealing her feelings about her living situation and growing up: "I live on my own.
I don't like it as such, well, I hate it actually. Growing up I wasn't confident at all. My first audition was so nerve-wracking.
" After receiving a standing ovation for her first performance, she shared: "I couldn't believe I got a standing ovation. I was the best day in my whole, entire life." For her semi-final act, she performed Sarah Brightman's "Pie Jesu", with backup from a guitar-playing quartet.
Judge Alesha Dixon admired Emma's progressive confidence, stating: "It's so lovely to see you coming out of your shell," while Simon Cowell added: "It was fantastic." A post on Emma's Facebook page has since shared her tragic death on Valentine's Day this year. She sadly lost her battle against cancer at 32 years.
