BrewFest is coming back to Black River Landing in downtown Lorain for the 10th year, but with a brand new event organizer. The Lorain Port and Finance Authority announced June 18 at the Bascule Brewery and Public House in Lorain, that the popular beer festival will return from 1-6 p.m.
Aug. 10. Organizers called the event a staple they had to ensure continued to take place at Black River Landing.
This year, Festivals Unlimited, the same organization that runs the largest craft beer festivals in Ohio including the Cleveland Winter Beerfest in Cleveland, will produce BrewFest. “When recently made aware by previous organizers that there would not be a festival this year, we went out to see if we could find a professional with the time and experience to maintain the tradition and still pull this off in 2024,” said Tom Brown, executive director of the Lorain Port and Finance Authority. “We needed someone with solid financials and experience building relationships with the brewing communities.
“The Festivals Unlimited team hits on all those markers and then some. We couldn’t have found a better team and are so excited to get the ball rolling on this and other potential events in the future.” Craig Johnson, co-founder of Festivals Unlimited, said he and his group are excited to come to Lorain, and commented on the beauty and functionality of the Black River venue, as well as its proximity to Lake Erie.
