Bokaro: A 45-year-old beauty parlour owner approached deputy commissioner ( DC ) Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao on Sunday, seeking justice after being brutally assaulted with a stick by her neighbourhood shopkeeper and his associates on June 4. The attack happened after she confronted them for allegedly making lewd comments towards her female staff when they were in a drunken state. The victim suffered swelling and bruises on her legs, thigh, and arms, which she showed to the DC.
She filed an FIR against the accused and a few other unknown individuals. After listening to the victim's ordeal, the DC instructed the superintendent of police (SP) to take strict action, arrest the accused, and revoke the firearm licence of the main accused. The DC told TOI, “The victim was mercilessly beaten up.
I have asked the SP to take necessary legal action for the safety of woman. The accused must be arrested.” In her complaint, the victim stated that she was returning home in her vehicle at 10:20 pm after closing her parlour when she received a distress call from her 26-year-old female employee, who reported that the accused were making lewd remarks at her.
The woman immediately reached the spot near her parlour where the accused and a few others were sitting in a drunken state. "As I confronted them for passing comment at my employee, the main accused took out a stick and started beating me mercilessly. He also touched me inappropriately.
As I cried for help, some people came and saved me. .
