A developer says its new neighbourhood in Cornwall will include 51 ‘local parish homes’. The construction of 170 homes in a development at Bodmin has kicked off with the laying of a stone by stakeholders. Linda Taylor, leader of Cornwall Council, and Tracey Kent, founder of bunnyhomes, laid the stone at one of the new homes in .

They said the occasion marked the partnership between bunnyhomes and . The site will have 51 ‘local parish homes’ as part of the new neighbourhood, built for local people to afford, according to the developer, which apparently doesn't like the phrase 'affordable homes'. Ms Kent gave members of Cornwall Council, Bodmin Town Council and other local council, business, and neighbourhood representatives a tour of the newly launched showhomes.



Ms Kent said: “We are extremely proud to have worked closely with Cornwall Council to bring our local parish homes to The Watchmaker’s and after years of planning it was wonderful to welcome Linda and key members of the team and councillors to finally see our vision brought to life. We are committed to creating new neighbourhoods across Cornwall and Devon that will stand the test of time and remain beautiful, vibrant communities for future generations.” Most of the development will be open market homes - 95 two, three and four-bedroom homes for private sale and 24 apartments for private rent.
