Bob's Discount furniture has opened its first store in Western New York at 3207 Southwestern Blvd., in Orchard Park. "It's just a great retail location with convenient access for our Bob's customers," said Ryan Hicks, regional store manager for Bob's Discount Furniture.
"The nice thing about Buffalo is that since we already had some established markets in the New York area, there's just a lot of people that kind of already knew about us." The store saw 500 customers during its soft opening June 24. "Multiple times, our guests were just telling us, 'We are so happy that you are here.
We have been waiting for you,' " Hicks said. "People have been seeing the signs and it being built for so many months now that people said we had a beautiful store and they're just happy we're here." Until now, the closest Bob's store had been in Erie, Pa. "There's just a lot of people that kind of already knew about us. So it almost wasn't like opening up in a new market," Hicks said.
A lot of visitors said they had friends and family who have shopped at Bob's elsewhere and passed on word about it. "It's almost like opening up in an existing market already, because the customers were just ready for us and they're pretty close to Bob's and they've heard about us before and follow us on social media," Hicks said. Bob's is known for its cafe areas in the middle of its stores that offer free .
