RTÉ 2FM presenter Bláthnaid Treacy has opened up about how her relationship with her husband Charlie has changed since welcoming their daughter Nancy to the world in June last year. Bláthnaid says becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience, despite its challenges. "It was very hard but it’s also been so rewarding.
You go through childbirth and then you have the baby to look after. You start at energy level zero [laughs]. The newborn bubble is hard to describe; yes, you’re not sleeping, but you’re falling madly in love with this tiny little person who you’ve felt moving around inside you.

"An hour nap can do amazing things! The hardest part is the sleep. You go through phases of ups and downs.
If there’s any parents reading this who aren’t getting any sleep at the moment, it comes to an end," she says. Her favourite part about being a mother is getting to know Nancy’s personality. "I love looking into her eyes and asking how she is.
She finds silly things I do hilarious, and when she sneezes she cracks herself up. She loves singing and music. "She’s not a fan of cars, but I will sing Wheels On The Bus to her and she will.
