FARGO — North Dakota State has added a versatile running back from the Chicago area to its football program. Richards (Ill.) High School's Myles Mitchell verbally committed to the Bison, he announced Friday, June 14, via social media.
He recently visited NDSU. “When I got there, it just felt like home," Mitchell said. "The facilities were beautiful.
” Mitchell had 14 offers from NCAA Division I programs, including multiple offer from FBS programs. He's part of the 2025 recruiting class and NDSU's sixth commitment. Mitchell said he was impressed with NDSU's coaching staff, including head coach Tim Polasek.
Polasek can't comment on Mitchell until he officially signs. “At the end of the day, it’s about the people, not the place," Mitchell said. “I love the mentality that they have.
” The 5-foot-10, 195-pound Mitchell rushed for around 1,300 yards during his junior season at Richards, which is in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Former Bison punter Mike Dragosavich also played high school football for Richards. Mitchell has around 1,800 all-purpose yards and 21 total touchdowns last season.
He was an Illinois Class 6A all-state running back. “I did a lot in the receiving game as well," Mitchell said. “I feel like I’m a very versatile back.
