Hundreds were left in queues for hours in Birmingham Airport (Image: Daily Star/@Endthe_struggle) Holidaymakers at Birmingham Airport have faced Bank Holiday misery this morning as they queue for hours. The Midlands airport has been slammed as a 'shambles' as new security controls saw hundreds left waiting to get through to the terminal. Some passengers reported being stuck for more than two hours just to get through security.
Passengers have been warned that there would be a big change to how they queue and travel to airside, as well as how they carry liquids over the weekend. It comes as the airport rolls out brand new security check-points. While the airport assured that the roll out of its "state-of-the-art" security hall upgrade was complete, passengers arriving at the airport today have been far from happy.
