When Catherine David moved to Rochester to teach in 1990, she found just what she was looking for — the best of both worlds. In other words, “a small-town feel with many of the big-town amenities,” she said, adding that her comfortable style is reflective of that balance. “It’s a little different than the norm but only like an inch.

” After growing up in a small farming community about 20 miles southeast of Mankato, Davis earned an undergraduate degree in music education from what is now Minnesota State University-Mankato and then graduate degrees from Concordia University in St. Paul. Today, Davis is continuing her career in education, serving as interim executive director for the Greater Rochester Advocates for Universities and Colleges and a learning and development consultant.



Beyond, Davis says, “My husband, Jon, and I are a part of both the theater and music scene here in Rochester, and we love both attending and participating in plays, concerts and music around town.” This fall, she will be the vocal director for the Rochester Civic Theatre's production of “Newsies.” How do you describe your style? Boho Chic.

Although I often joke that it is pajama chic. I appreciate comfortable clothes that feel like pajamas and are acceptable to wear in many situations. ADVERTISEMENT May we have a little history of that style? It has evolved over time.
