Welsh choir of the Year 2019 at the Llangollen International music festival, Choir of the World 2019, Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists 2023 and BBC Choir of the Year 2016 are some of the many achievements amassed by the critically acclaimed choir that is set to bring its UK tour to Hereford theatre this June. The BGT 2023 fan favourites blew us all away with the sheer emotional depth of their performances, moving judge Bruno Tonioli to tears with their audition. The humble, down-to-earth qualities of the male choir was only emphasised by how their practice sessions were held every Sunday in a cattle shed.
The audience adored the stunning vocals of the Welsh choir, and they made it all the way to the semi-finals of the variety show. The choir were not to be dismayed by their loss, however, with Joe Bell of Johns’ Boys choir saying, "This is just the start of our journey!" Now, their rollercoaster of a journey brings them to the town of Hereford to perform at The Courtyard theatre on June 29, 2024. In a Facebook post from Johns’ Boys Male Chorus themselves, tickets are down to the last 25 available, so if you want to see their “groundbreaking, modern twist to the traditional Welsh male voice choir” for yourselves, you’d better be quick! The choir’s new tour will feature “fresh and passionate performances of diverse repertoire,” says the Johns’ Boys website.
