1996 looked like the end of popular band Sublime when lead singer Bradley Nowell died of a heroin overdose. But now the beloved band, who often mix rock, ska, rap and reggae, return with a new single and a new lead singer, as reported in Entertainment Weekly . Jakob Nowell, Bradley’s son has stepped up to the mic as the band release their first single in years: “Feel Like That,” which was arranged with original vocal tracks from both Jakob and Bradley.

Scott Woodruff, of the reggae band Stick Figure, also appears on the song which uses an older recording of an improvised jam session from 1996. “My dad has a verse and then I have a verse and then Stick closes out the song,” Jakob Nowell said. “It’s a beautiful thing.

” Jakob kicked off his tenure as the band’s new frontman with a pair of performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California in April..
