Caoimhín and his mummy The family of an eight-year-old boy who passed away last year are keeping his legacy alive with a special tribute. Caoimhín Adams was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition after his family noticed he had put on weight and was having problems with his breathing. The youngster, from Newtownabbey , was given a ROHHAD diagnosis, and to this day remains the only person on the island of Ireland to be diagnosed with the condition.

To mark his first anniversary, they have organised a special memorial event at Belfast City Hall to take place from 8.

30pm on July 9. The memorial event will see the Newtownabbey boy's family, friends, representatives from the emergency services, and some local sporting faces paying tribute while enjoying music, food, and soft drinks at City Hall. The building will also light up in orange, the colour associated with ROHHAD awareness, as will council buildings in the youngster's native Antrim and Newtownabbey Council.
