Chandigarh: A high-level delegation from the Czech Republic held a meeting with the Chandigarh administration here on Wednesday, to explore initiatives in education and environmental sectors. Some of the key agendas discussed in the meeting include forming a Czech Chair of Architect in the Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA), transferring waste management know-how, and facilitating visas for research and conferences between the two countries. The Czech Republic delegation was led by Eliska Zigova, Ambassador of Czech Republic to India.

The delegation included Guneet Chaudhary, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chandigarh. Meanwhile, the UT administration was led by adviser to administrator Rajeev Verma and included Ajay Chagti, secretary local govt and Anindita Mitra, municipal commissioner. On establishing a Chair in Architecture at the CCA, it was discussed that an agreement shall be drafted between the CCA and the University of Prague , after considering various modalities between the two institutions.



Discussion were also held concerning exchange programme for students involving cultural, food and film festivals. Eliska Zigova visited the CCA during the day and appreciated the institution for its research initiatives and the creative spirit of the students. The issue to streamline the process for students going to Prague/ Czech Republic for the internship period of six months within the ambit of the Chair in Architecture, was also discussed.
