Rome has more fountains than any other city in the world, with 2,000 dotted around the city.
The Trevi Fountain is the most well known fountain in the Italian capital, and is every bit as beautiful as you can imagine. The Baroque masterpiece took 30 years to complete. Thousands of coins are tossed into the fountain each week as people make a wish.
The coins are eventually fished out and donated to charity. Rome has a number of vantage points that offer stunning views across the city. Gianicolo is located above Trastever.
