A MASSIVE shark has washed up on a Scottish coast, leaving beachgoers horrified. 45pm on Sunday night Credit: Steve Welsh 3 Coastguard crews raced to Maidens beach, in South Ayrshire Credit: GOOGLE MAPS Locals stumbled upon the stricken creature at the popular beauty spot and raised the alarm at around 8.45pm. Coastguard teams attended and confirmed the shark was tragically dead.



Yolanda McCall was in the area at the time when it washed up on the beach and her friend told her she initially thought it was a whale. She then rang the authorities while her husband notified the coastguard. Speaking to Ayrshire Live , she said: "It was bobbing around in the water and we couldn't tell if it was dead or alive. It was tangled in a long loop of rope, in its mouth and caught around its tail. Maybe it got tired trying to free itself.
