A BBC RADIO station has been pulled off air in a major last minute schedule shake-up. Listeners tuning in were left scratching their heads over the huge change on Tuesday morning. Usually Kevin Duala wakes up BBC Merseyside each weekday from 6am with his beloved programme.
However, he was forced off the airwaves over a fire alert in the Beeb's studios. It resulted in listeners joining neighbouring BBC Radio Lancashire after the news bulletin came to an end. Taking over hosting duties, Graham Liver addressed the shake-up live on air.
He said: "Good Morning, I'm Graham Liver. If you're listening on BBC Radio Merseyside your normal programmes will resume very shortly." Later in the show he shared an update on the situation, revealing: "There's a fire alarm in Liverpool, so as we speak, Kevin is outside waiting to get in.
In the meantime, you're stuck with me." After an hour off air, BBC Merseyside was able to get back on air with Kevin from 7am. Kevin's show features a variety of news, music and 'laughter', according to the official synopsis.
Meanwhile, BBC Radio 2 recently announced a huge schedule shake-up for a special milestone . Bosses at the station will celebrate Tony Blackburn celebrates 60 years on air, with a day of special features to mark the anniversary. The BBC is reopening case files on an all-star line-up of crime dramas this summer.
