Jessie Wallace has given her fans a health update as she revealed she underwent surgery following years of pain. The EastEnders actress, who is known for her role as Kat Slater, shared how her right foot is now strapped in a special recovery boot. She captioned her photo: "Thank you RNOHT [Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital] for my Silastic Arthroplasty.

After years of excruciating pain I am FREE!" The procedure helped to replace damaged joints in her feet with artificial ones. Jessie, 52, received the support from her soap co-stars as Shane Richie joked: "After all our years together I never knew that all your piggies literally f***ed off to the market!" A fan also commented: "Good on ya Jessie. I thought it was caused by giving Phil Mitchell an ass kicking.

" Another added: "I have just got out of one of those sandals after recently having bunion surgery! Foot surgery is so painful. Speedy recovery and keep it elevated! X." Last week, Jessie shared an update on her fiancé, 51, after they got engaged last year.

She shared a loved-up snap with her carpenter boyfriend Justin Gallwey where she could be seen looking lovingly up at him. Jessie captioned the post: "My love @justin_gallwey." One fan remarked: "The way you look at him Jess," while another added: "Beautiful couple.

" "You two are adorable," a third shared and another said: "Awe wow, the love u both show in this pic is incredibly strong, hope you're both well." The couple have known each other since they were teenage.
