Sublime is a band that most folks in their 40s will know well. With Bradley Nowell leading the way, the band’s combination of rock, ska, rap and even some hints of reggae made it a regular spin in CD decks in the mid-to-late 90s. But just a things were taking off for the band, Nowell died of a heroin overdose in 1996.
Still, Sublime’s songs found airplay, and the band — at least different versions of it — returned to touring without their popular frontman. What Sublime didn’t do, though, is put out new music. That has changed, and there is a Nowell leading the way.
