Ash Barty celebrates son Hayden's first birthday with an iconic birthday cake

She welcomed her baby son Hayden in July 2023.Speaking to 9honey for the annual Bonds BabySearch campaign, of which Barty and Hayden are the faces, the former athlete says past tennis tournaments don't come close to to the trials and tribulations of new parenthood."I have so much admiration for parents now I have a child of my own – being a parent is the hardest but the best thing in the world," Barty said."I don't think anything quite prepares you for motherhood! "For me it's been a huge learning curve and the most wonderful experience of my life. It's not comparable to anything else."She described her son as a "happy, relaxed little boy.""He is a beautiful baby and I am enjoying every minute with him, I know how quickly the time passes."Barty spoke of life after her monumental career decision. "I have a pretty simple life at home and don't go out very much," she said.
