The Aruba Volleyball Association was invited by the “Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee” to participate in the “U-19 Beach Volleyball Camp & Tournament,” which took place in Tobago from May 23 to 26, 2024. The goal of the “Beach Volleyball Camp & Tournament” was to provide young athletes under the age of 19 and their coaches with a unique opportunity to participate in volleyball clinics where they could develop their skills and expand their knowledge of beach volleyball. These clinics were led by experienced coaches from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), including coaches from Brazil, the USA, and Trinidad.
This significant opportunity was created by Panam Sports through the Aruba Olympic Committee, which supported and covered a large portion of the expenses. This Panam Sports project is part of the “Youth Athlete Preparation 2024” program. Aruba was represented in the Under-19 competition by talented athletes Nayah Whitfield and Davy-Ann Eduards.
In this competition, part of the CAZOVA Beach Volleyball Tour, Aruba was represented by Joshua Hoepelman and Isram Phelipa. In these matches, athletes Hoepelman and Phelipa demonstrated character and persistence, putting up a good fight. Although they did not win, their skills were recognized by the coaches.
Athletes Davy-Ann Eduards and Joshua Hoepelman were recognized as the two youngest athletes (14 years old) at the “Development Camp and Tournament.” They received recognition and prai.
