A year ago, fans weren’t certain when they’d ever get a new album from Ariana Grande . Now, the world has had Eternal Sunshine for exactly four months, an anniversary the pop star commemorated by sharing studio footage from the project’s recording process on Instagram Sunday (July 7). In the clips, Grande records and edits vocals for the singles “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” and “The Boy Is Mine” — which peaked at Nos.

1 and 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 , respectively — sometimes sitting alone at her computer and other times joined by producers Max Martin and Ilya. In one snippet, she tells the camera, “I think there’s something special here,” before recording herself laying down melody passes for what would become “Supernatural.” In another video, Martin looks confused as Grande aims her selfie camera at him with a filter activated that superimposes three white bunnies around his face.



“Why?” he says dumbfoundedly as the vocalist laughs. “wanted to share a few more of my favorite eternal sunshine studio memories,” Grande captioned the post. “these make me so happy.

” After several weeks of tinkering in the studio, Eternal Sunshine arrived March 8. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard .
