The Men’s Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championships concluded this weekend with the final round held at the Port Royal Golf Club. A spokesperson said, “The stage was set for a pulsating final round in the Men’s Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championship Division, and in the end it was not short on excitement. Kenny Leseur Jr.

Leseur’s took a two shot lead into the final round over Oliver Betschart with Adam Perry only a further two shots back. In a see-saw battle which saw numerous lead changes throughout the day it was Kenny Leseur Jr who won the title in a two hole sudden playoff against Oliver Betschart for the title. Leseur Jr shot a final round 75 making a clutch up and down par on the final hole to enter a playoff after Betschart birdied the final hole of regulation play to force the duo into a sudden death playoff.



“The playoff was n full view of a large crowd gathered in the natural amphitheatre on offer at the 18th green at Port Royal Golf Club. Each player made a solid par on the first playoff hole. Going again for the second playoff it was Betschart who found the right fairway bunker off the tee, and Leseur was to the right on the 10th fairway.

Betschart was unable to find the green with his approach shot, and Leseur chose a safe option taking trouble out of play with his approach. “Both players were left with work to do for a par.
