Today (June 29) marks the 49th annual Allesley Village Festival in Coventry , which hosts a range of family-fun and special community events, whilst also raising funds for local charities. If you've been through the village this week, you may have noticed bunting across local shops and businesses in the lead-up to the events. Each year, the festival takes over the village with music, open mic nights, school fetes, sports matches, and even a carnival parade with colourful floats.
Today the festival is hosting the infamous Annual Scarecrow Competition and an Art Exhibition. The festival will be held from Saturday, June 29 to Sunday, June 14 this year, with this year's theme being 'World of Sport' to celebrate the best of sport, iconic athletes, and sports stars over time. We have assembled a guide below on what's to come at this year's Allesley Festival.
