A UK beach has gone viral for its striking resemblance to the sands of the Caribbean. The breathtaking blue waters and golden sands would be more at home on a distant tropical paradise thousands of miles away from Blighty. But this beach is in fact nestled away on the coast of Cornwall.
Users on TikTok were stunned when the Cornish gem situated in Carbis Bay luxury estate, St Ives, Cornwall was shared by @cardisbayhotelandestate. The estate boasts its own private stretch of sand, but the beach in the video is open for public access. Pedn Vounder beach is on the south coast of Cornwall's Penwith Peninsula.
Though beachgoers can visit, there are a number of factors to be aware of. The first is that it's a tidal beach, meaning it disappears when tides are high. You can only access the beach by boat or on foot.
To access by foot, visitors have to scale their way down a number of "challenging" steep rocks, reports The Express. The beach is also popular among naturists, having become the go-to spot for those who prefer to sunburn in the nude. Signs have been erected telling visitors "naturists may be seen beyond this point".
