Hollywood actor Evangeline Lilly shared she is quitting the acting industry but ‘might return one day’ in shock post. The 44-year-old star rose to fame as Kate Austen in US drama Lost which ran from 2004 to 2010. Since then she has also appeared as the Wasp/Hope van Dyne in Marvel’s Ant-Man franchise and as Tauriel in the high-grossing Hobbit trilogy.
But her list of decorated acting credits may have just come to an abrupt end. In an Instagram post on Monday, Evangeline shared a video of herself from 2006 while filming Lost, in which she talks about her dream of being a ‘retired actor’ in 10 years time. She said in the video: ‘Ten years from now, where would I like to be? I am terrified to admit this to the rest of the acting world but ideally 10 years from now I’d like to be a retired actress and have a family.
‘I’d like to be writing and influencing people’s lives in humanitarian ways.’ This was joined with a clip of famed poet Maya Angelou talking about the changing nature of life. In the caption, the award-winning actor spoke about how they are ‘filled with joy and contentment’ as they live out their vision and feel gratitude for their ‘blessings’.
The Canadian star continued: ‘Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment. ‘I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong. A new season has arrived, .
